Maggie Grant is an award-winning director, writer, and SAG-AFTRA member since 1989, as well as an AEA actor teacher and set coach. Maggie teaches actor workshops at the SAG-AFTRA FOUNDATION, where she shares her extensive experience. Since 1990, she has also served as a casting director, having cast hundreds of actors in various mediums including film, television, theatre, commercials, music videos, and industrials—essentially, if it’s a performance, she’s likely cast it.
As a director, Maggie has honed her skills in audition coaching, learning how to draw out the best performances from actors with subtle, yet impactful adjustments. She excels at quickly identifying the connection between an actor and the material, guiding them to discover the perfect choices and substitutions that allow them to make the material their own.
In this workshop, you will learn how to connect your life experiences to a range of materials—whether it's commercials, film, theatre, monologues, or voiceover copy—to create a truthful and believable performance every time. You'll navigate your way toward your best performance and apply what you learn in a quick and productive manner.
