You have a big audition coming up, you’ve worked very hard. You’ve planned exactly how to get every beat pitch perfect. You know precisely what you want to do, how you want to sound, and you are confident that
you are going to
kill this audition.
And you ARE killing it at the audition, exactly as you had planned.
Then, it happens…
Casting Director: That’s great, I just have a slight adjustment.
Your ears start ringing, your palms begin to sweat, your heart races.
You: An adjustment? You want an… adjustment?
And your mind goes blank.
Has this ever happened to you?
Did you know that many times, Casting Directors give adjustments to learn more about your craft? They want to see if you can take direction; if you have more in you than what they just saw.
That a part of their job is to glean this information for the director and producers?
There is a lot going on behind the scenes when a role is cast; probably more than you could ever imagine.
How do you make yourself stand out?
How do you prepare yourself to get that call back?
How do you show the Casting Director that not only can you take adjustments; but you can handle them like a pro, and that you are going to be a breeze to direct?

Maggie Grant is an award winning director, writer, SAG~AFTRA (since 1989), and AEA actor teacher and set coach.
She has also been a Casting Director since 1990. She has cast hundreds of actors in film, television, theatre, commercials, music videos, industrials, you name it,
she’s cast it.
As a director, she has learned how to get the best performance from an actor with, you guessed it, slight adjustments.
She has become adept at the ability to drill down to what connects an actor to material quickly, efficiently and effectively. Through guiding actors through finding the perfect choices and substitutions enabling them to make the material their own.
In this workshop you will learn how to connect your life experiences to any material; commercials, film, theatre, monologues, voice over copy, etc., to create a truthful and believable performance every time.
And you will find a way to navigate your way toward your best performance.
You will be able to apply what you learn quickly and productively.
You will also learn to never fear the word “adjustment” again.
We will be working from audition material, both prepared and cold readings as well.
